Burglary ending in Murder leads to 17yr sentence

Angel Sambrano was sentenced to 17 years after pleading guilty to 2nd Degree Murder, Aggravated Burglary with a deadly weapon, Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property.

On June 16, 2014, Sambrano, Michelle Burchette and Pamela Quesada stole a TV from Mr. George Curcie and sold it in order to obtain drugs. During the robbery Mr. Curcie was stabbed and later died.

On Thursday, August 27th, Assistant District Attorney Gerald Byers ended his remarks by stating, “at the time that the defendant stabbed George Curcie, he knew that it created a strong probability of death and great bodily harm.” Though the defense disputed one of the facts presented by the prosecution, in the end, the defense did submit to the facts the state stipulated.

Mr. Sambrano plead guilty to all four charges and Judge Fernando Macias sentenced him to 17 years incarceration.

Trial is pending for Michelle Burchette.
