DA Office Working Together with Hatch Valley Public Schools and PD

Our office was invited by the Hatch Valley Public Schools as well as the Village of Hatch Police Department to meet with students and parents to discuss the importance of attendance/education and to clarify the law as well as the Truancy Reduction Program in Dona Ana County.

Principal Garcia of Hatch High School did a wonderful Job of letting her parents and students know that she is there to support them in hopes of a brighter future for them and their community.   Our office discussed the law, enforcement, the impact of dropouts and the importance of working together as a community to keep students in school.

It was a great opportunity for us to work with our friends in Hatch.  At the end of the presentation, it was understood that with regard to truancy, there are consequences for children, the adults those children will become and the society in which we live based on their actions now.
