Las Cruces–Danny Salcido and Richard Garcia were arraigned in the Third Judicial District Court today. Both former officers are facing a charge of Aggravated Battery for what took place in a holding cell on December 23, 2014 involving Ross Flynn.
Mr. Salcido, a resident of El Paso, Texas, currently represented by a Public Defender, entered a plea of not guilty and waived his right to extradition. Judge James T. Martin reiterated the terms of the extradition waiver which restrain travel beyond El Paso and Dona Ana counties to which Salcido agreed. Bond was set at $5,000 unsecured.
Richard Garcia waived his right to appear at arraignment and his bond was also set for an unsecured bond of $5,000.
