Adrian Hortelano appeared today in the Children’s Court before District Court Judge Marci Beyer for a change of plea. He pled No Contest to violating numerous terms and conditions of his probation agreement. When asked, Hortelano declined to address the Court. After hearing from Prosecutor Tom Erickson, Defense Attorney Deborah Varol; and others, Judge Beyer ordered Hortelano to be committed to Youth Development and Diagnostic Center for two years.
Adrian Hortelano also has two cases pending in District Court for offenses allegedly committed since becoming an adult. On May 14, 2015, Hortelano was Indicted for Felony Aggravated Battery (Deadly Weapon)(Firearm Enhancement) for the shooting of Izaiya Silva. On August 14, 2015, Hortelano was indicted for First Degree Felony Murder in the shooting death of Jaycob Alba.
