MISSION

“The Mission of this protocol is to minimize the trauma suffered by victims of child abuse and their families during the investigation and prosecution by enduring the cooperation of all agencies in the response to allegations of child abuse.”

PURPOSE

“The purpose of this Child Abuse Response Protocol is to define the lines of communication and roles and responsibilities of investigative agencies, social services agencies and medical providers responding to child abuse allegations in Dona Ana County. This manual represents collaboration among agencies investigating child abuse allegations. These agencies have agreed to use aMultiDisciplinary Team approach to the child abuse investigation and forensic interviews of children. The procedures in this manual may be updated periodically. On occasion, situations may arise which will require a variance in the procedures outlined in this protocol.”
