In memoriam of the September 11th attacks and the hundreds of victims who perished, a memorial service was observed at the Albert Johnson Park today.
Staff members of the DA’s office along with representatives from all local law enforcement agencies were present. Many community residents and students from Booker T. Washington and Central Elementary schools also attended.
Mayor Ken Miyagishima, Las Cruces Police Chief Jaime Montoya and Retired Sgt 1st Class Christopher Fulbright addressed the crowd. They acknowledged the men and women in the armed services and those on the front lines in every community that put their lives on the line daily to preserve the safety of all.
