District Attorney Mark D’Antonio hosted a town hall last night honoring victims of crime and highlighted their rights as part of National Crime Victim’s Rights Week. Speakers included Under Sheriff Eddie Lerma, representatives from La Casa, FYI, the DA’s office and a student from Alma D’Arte Charter school.
Mr. D’Antonio extended an invitation to anyone who is a victim of crime to come forward and receive the help they so desperately need, there is no need to suffer in silence. There are many agencies who are ready and willing to help a victim through the healing process.
The “Victim’s Quilt” made by Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Clark was on hand and more names were added, honoring those victims who lost their lives due to crime.
The public is encouraged to join the many agencies who have worked so diligently to put together the “National Crime Victims Rights Walk/Expo” this Saturday beginning at 9am at Pioneer Park.
