October 23, 2024 I Las Cruces- Antonio Alamo Medina, 60, was found guilty by a Las Cruces Jury for 2 counts of Criminal Sexual Contact of a child under 13 [Second Degree], and one count of Attempt to Commit Criminal Sexual Contact of a child under 13 [Third Degree]. 

On November 20, 2023, Sunland Park Police were contacted by a father in reference to a Criminal Sexual incident that happened to his daughter by her grandfather.  During a Forensic interview at the La Piñon Children’s Advocacy Center, the child disclosed several incidences of sexual contact starting when she was in second or third grade.  The abuse happened off and on over a 5-year period while the child lived with her grandparents.  The last incident happened when the victim was 12 years old, and she was able to disclose the abuse to her mother, the victim’s father contacted the authorities. 

Third Judicial District Court Judge Douglas Driggers will hold sentencing hearing at a later date, Medina will face a minimum of 3 years to a potential of 22.5 years.
