Victoria Cabrales Sentenced to 9 Years for a Burglary Spree

Third Judicial District Attorney Fernando Macias announced Thursday that Victoria Cabrales was sentenced to nine years in prison for multiple burglaries as part of a global plea.
Cabrales, 40, pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary, two counts of conspiracy to commit burglary and one count of receiving stolen property stemming from three separate cases. She was sentenced to three years for each case, to run consecutively.
On Feb. 5, 2026, the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a storage facility for a trespassing report.
When deputies arrived, they found Cabrales and her accomplice at a storage unit they claimed belonged to them. During questioning, officers spotted a blowtorch and two locks that appeared to have been cut with the torch. When Cabrales and her accomplice failed to provide a working key to the unit, both were detained.
The facilities manager provided contact information for the unit’s owner. He confirmed to police that Cabrales and her accomplice did not have permission to access his unit.
Upon further investigation, police found several other units with locks cut with a torch.
During questioning, Cabrales confessed to multiple crimes. She told deputies she and her accomplice broke into several other units at a separate storage facility a few days prior and told them where some of the stolen items were stashed.
Deputies located stolen firearms, jewelry, collectibles, money, power tools and electronics.
At the time, Cabrales was also wanted by deputies for receiving $16,000 in stolen coins. Deputies learned in January 2026 that she had the coins and had sold several to local pawn shops, but investigators were unable to locate her.
The Doña Ana County District Attorney’s Office is working to prosecute the accomplice.
Trial Attorney Steven Almanza prosecuted the cases.
