Javon Fielder Pleads Guilty to All Felony Counts in Strykers Shooting World Burglary

Las Cruces, N.M. — Third Judicial District Attorney Fernando Macias announced that Javon Fielder pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and seven other felony counts in connection with the November 2025 burglary of Strykers Shooting World.

Fielder, 17, pleaded guilty to all felony charges one hour before jury selection was scheduled to begin on Aug. 18, 2026.

Before the burglary, Fielder and his five co-conspirators planned the offense. Then, on Nov. 22, 2025, at approximately 2 a.m., surveillance video showed Fielder, who was 16 at the time, and five other teenagers using a stolen Kia Forte to ram through a security gate at Strykers Shooting World. The group then used the vehicle to ram through an aluminum roll-up door, allowing them to enter the business. Fielder, who was armed with an axe, and the other defendants were wearing face masks, gloves and hoodies to conceal their identities.

Once inside, surveillance video showed the group ransacking the business and using a firearm to break a glass display case. Nine handguns, two rifles and a shotgun were stolen.

Approximately five minutes after entering Strykers, the group fled in another stolen vehicle, a Kia Rio. Police later located the abandoned vehicle and, during a search, found a class schedule belonging to one of the defendants. The discovery helped investigators identify and arrest the defendants.

District Attorney Fernando Macias described the case as one of the most egregious juvenile offenses his office is prosecuting, calling it a military-style operation because of the level of planning and coordination involved in the burglary and the number of firearms stolen.

Fielder is the second defendant to plead in the case. Seventeen-year-old Josiah Rocha pleaded no contest to the charges in June.

Fielder and Rocha are awaiting amenability hearings, which will determine whether they will be sentenced under the juvenile code or as adults. The other four defendants are currently awaiting trial.

The District Attorney’s Office is seeking an adult sentence for both Fielder and Rocha.

While awaiting trial in juvenile detention, Fielder was also charged with misdemeanor aggravated battery involving another juvenile inmate.

These cases are being prosecuted by District Attorney Fernando Macias and Assistant District Attorney Anne Swank and were investigated by the Las Cruces Police Department.
