District Attorney Byers announces appointments to leadership team & new attorneys

December , 2023 I Continuing the Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office commitment of public service, DA Byers has appointed three trial attorneys to Deputy District Attorney’s.  As part of the leadership team, Salvador Guardiola, Phyl Bean, Thomas Limon and Spencer Wilson will be instrumental in providing leadership and supervision in Magistrate and District court settings and mentoring the newly licensed attorneys, ensuring the work of securing justice for victims and survivors of crime.

The Third DA has continued to recruit and hire new attorneys.  “We have recently hired an additional 12 new prosecuting attorneys; we are fully staffed thanks to the legislative commitment to increase pay for our employees.  By investing in our people, we can ensure that our responsibility to public service continues.  The criminal justice system is impacting the ability of the criminal justice process to hold offenders accountable; we recognize that we have an obligation to challenge it.  Our approach is designed to equip our prosecutors with the means to effectively address our caseloads.  This is a great opportunity for these new attorneys to participate in securing convictions for victims of crime and continue the fight for justice.  Every member of this office believes in the core values of fairness, integrity, and justice by which we uphold on behalf of the people of Doña Ana County.” said DA Byers.
